Paris rewards a slower evening. Dinner runs late and is expected to, so a four hour booking here covers less ground than the same four hours in London.

- Greet staff before you ask for anything. Bonjour first, request second, in that order.
- Dinner at nine is normal and dinner at seven is early. Book the table for when Paris eats.
- Service is included by law. Rounding up is a courtesy, not an obligation.
- Smart dress carries further than an obviously expensive outfit. Understatement reads better here.
