What Tokyo asks of you
Tokyo bookings are quieter and more precise than most. Counter dining for two, a company dinner with a fixed seating order, or a gallery evening where the room stays low.
Reservations are the real currency. Many of the rooms our clients want are booked a month out and expect the named guest to be the person who arrives.
Bilingual companions handle most of these evenings, because a lot of the better counters run in Japanese only.

Worth knowing
- Cancelling a counter reservation late is a serious discourtesy. Tell us early and we will handle the call.
- Do not tip. Leaving money on the table causes confusion rather than pleasure.
- Shoes come off where you see a step up and a row of slippers.
- Keep phone calls out of restaurants and off the train entirely.
